We had a fabulous weekend stay at the Jackson Rose this August on a retreat to to beautiful historic Harper's Ferry. Our goal was to find a charming, relaxing environment to relax within close proximity of the historic town and had our goals met on all accounts with a few surprises thrown in! We stayed in the Garret room on the top floor, which happened to be beautifully decorated in hues of Green (one of my favorite colors). While we didn't use it, a television was available, and the A/C unit worked well to keep us comfortable at night. The bed was very comfortable and provided for a sound night's sleep. The private bathroom was spacious enough with good quality fixtures, plenty of towels, and some absolutely LOVELY smelling soaps. (In fact we were wondering where we could acquire more!) One note to the tall... watch your head on the steps leading from the 2nd-3rd floor and going into the Garret Room WC... The Bedroom was only one half of the great experience at the Jackson Rose, and a quality breakfast was the other half. Phil and Deb were fabulous breakfast hosts, with fresh melon, delicious omelets, tart and tasty lemon crepes, and scones with fresh blackberry jam that I couldn't get enough of. It was a hearty breakfast, fabulously prepared, and I felt spoiled the whole time. Additional touches that made the stay memorable and pleasant included a tasty beverage upon our arrival, lemonade and cookies in the afternoon on Saturday after we returned from our rafting excursion, and the ability to celebrate their son Jack's first birthday! Roy the dog was a sweet fellow, always happy to greet us upon our return, and incredibly gentle despite his large frame. Other perks include a reading room with plenty of history, art and relevant prints throughout the residence, and a nice front porch swing with a view of the beautiful garden.

My wife and I were very lucky to get a last minute reservation to this lovely Bed and Breakfast. Phil and Deb were gracious host and the breakfast was top notch. The location can't be beat, and is a short walk to the downtown historic section of Harpers Ferry. We will definitely be back : )

Quiet, comfortable historic inn, includes a hearty breakfast, shared with other guests. Sherry and cookies, and a shy, gigantic dog named Roy, greet you after a hard day of museum walking.

Spent the weekend here with my boyfriend. What a wonderful B&B. Innkeepers Phil and Deb are very nice & friendly, but allow you to have "your space". We stayed in the Garrett Room on the 3rd floor-Good size room and very comfortable bed. We can't say enough about the breakfast! Amazing- all home-made-gourmet style- Deb is a wonderful host and the breakfast is very filling (no need to have lunch! really!!!) They were even very accommodating to an earlier breakfast for us as we had to leave early on a Monday morning to get back to DC for work. The B&B is a very short drive to the Harper's Ferry attractions (or a 1 mile walk- which is totally doable). What we also like that is it a short drive to Charles Town, WV -which offers other restaurants for dinner. I would highly recommend this wonderful B&B- we hope to be back again!

We visited Harpers Ferry as a mini-honeymoon, and stayed at the Jackson Rose because of its history but found it to offer far more than we expected. The inn was wonderful, the room was quite comfortable and well located about a mile from the Lower Town. The breakfasts were some of the best I've ever had at a B+B or restaurant, the first morning being lemon crepes and the second to-order vegetable omelets, both days with home made muffins and fruit. Midday there was also ginger cookies and lemonade. Conversation at breakfast was wonderful. Deb and Phil are incredible gracious hosts who moved breakfast up a day we had to leave early and gave us great suggestions on things to do. I highly recommend this as one of the best B+B experiences I've had.

We just came back from a wonderful and relaxing trip to Harpers Ferry. We stayed at this wonderful bed & breakfast after reading the glowing reviews on TripAdvisor and other sites. Deb and Phil are the innkeepers and are extremely gracious and hospitable. Our room was very comfortable (it was the same room where Stonewall Jackson stayed!). Deb and Phil serve a delicious breakfast every morning, and it was fun to sit with the other guests, get to know them, and eat a delicious meal. The first day, Deb served cinnamon raisin french toast, these amazing cranberry muffins, fresh sqeezed orange juice, and fresh fruit. The second day we had vegetable frittatas, biscuits with homemade jam, fresh squeezed orange juice, muffins, and fresh fruit. YUM! In the afternoon, she serves homemade chocolate chip cookies and fresh squeezed lemonade. What more can you ask for? The inn itself is located in Bolivar, which is about a 1 mile walk from Harpers Ferry. The location isn't ideal only because it's not necessarily walking distance (it is walkable, but it's a hike) from town, but that didn't matter to us. We just took our car and parked in town, so it was no big deal. I would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone visiting Harpers Ferry for the weekend. Deb and Phil could not have been nicer and the breakfasts are amazing. :)
